I think the Mara Jade affection is just for general badassness, more than any specific character traits? IDK. Like I say I really can't remember why I liked it in the first place.

I haven't watched the CinemeaWins thing - I'll check it out - but in my experience, most of the people who are trying to defend the prequels do it mostly by gesturing at the traces of all of that good, rich, interesting stuff and talking about how interesting it is. And I agree that stuff's interesting, I just don't think it's well-executed. So I haven't been too convinced by those arguments generally. But I'll definitely check it out like I say.
