03. Meh, I think he had a good reason to be like that and it sucks to be in his shoes. Plus, it got Miharu to stop acting like an indifferent little shit and stop pretending that he doesn't care for other's actions. But I'll take broken! Yoite than emotionless! Yoite over any day. I kind like a character who is getting increasingly insane each passing day. And I wonder if Miharu could save him.

But, a Nabari no Ou secret, fuck yeah.

07. & 18. OH GOD WHAT?

20. I kinda almost threw up on this scene. It didn't help that TMR was playing in the background. However, if it was between Kira and Cagalli (yes, even when they're still twins or no), it would've been pretty hot.

32. I like Near much more than L to be honest. He got shit done when it needed to be (and no, he didn't use any of L's notes). Meh, L was okay, I was never really crazy about him.

37. But isn't the point of the show that one's sex shouldn't hinder what they want in life? Like Utena being constantly told she would be better suited as a princess when she wanted to be a prince? And that "knight in shining armor" isn't going to be the person who will save you? I'm sure that ones who get Utena wouldn't feel that way.

Too Big!Secret #3. Fucking seconded. I swear there's too many people who think that all Japanese artists are superior in drawing manga-style art when in reality is so not true.

Yeah, I know that he has good reasons and whatnot. Still, it's just simply too much, the writer just keeps piling the angst and it's no longer sad, it's ridiculous and annoying. And combined with Miharu's own angst... argh.

I think that the surface view of the message of the show is what you said, yes, and it's also possible for someone to understand that logically and agree with it, but also act in contradiction to the same message without realizing it. There are also subtextual messages in the show, whether conscious or unconscious on the part of the creators, that also reinforce either another message or the primary message, depending. And if I go beyond this, it's going to turn into a dissertation in its own right, which I don't have the energy for right now. ;)

I think every subtextual message in the show is very much conscious. Utena is one of the handful anime shows where the the symbolism is well thought out and actually MAKES SENSE.
