28. Weird, Schindler's List always makes me sob. But Hirano's nazi girls made me feel guilty as hell over how sexy they are. Captain too.

37. Don't feel bad! There's even a growing movement towards scholarly writing about fandom!! You could write about Utena and get published probably! I'm working on a paper for a certain ridiculously popular Japanese RPG from a feminist perspective with the intention of publishing it. Write what you love, they told me... That was a bad idea.

45. Speaking of writing what you love... You should totally do it. I saw a version of R&GrD that had epic H/Hr-ness at the end and I'm hoping the company does Hamlet soon, because... H/Hr is pretty much the best ship in the Shakespeare canon.

I also wrote a paper once on how Horatio's finishing the iambs in Hamlet's lines proves they were Totally Doing It.

Oooh, which RPG? Will it be readable online? I am always interested in feminist perspectives on nerdy stuff.

Final Fantasy VII. And it should be, but right now it's very, very much in the pre-planning stage. But hey, I get to play a game and call it research, how awesome is that? If being an academic meant I got to back crackpot theories up with scholarly evidence and play videogames for work, I would so be a college professor, but alas.

There's a lot of feminist writing on Portal and Resident Evil, though! I tried to link it, but it made my browser crash four different times so... Uhm... Good luck? It's out there!!

That production sounds amazing <3

They really played up the homoeroticism between R and G in such a sweet and wonderful way. And it was blackbox still so I was like six feet away from the actors going "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" like an idiot and they played off of that. It was awesome!

And the end had all the dead bodies in plastic and fake blood and Horatio was clutching Hamlet's half-wrapped body so tightly that I could not at first distinguish that the actor playing Hamlet was not a part of Horatio.

It was a totally amazing production and I cannot say enough nice things about it or the company that did it. I seriously pray they do Hamlet sometime soon.

UHM I am sort of in love with that paper already. @__@

Hee. It's an official thing with real scholarship behind it. I was just rehashing with a deeper look at how the same thing (A character finishing anther characters lines to make them complete in the greater concept of iambic pentameter) is strong between romantic pairings in other plays. Specifically Romeo and Juliet.
