And there are people who mistakenly believe that their OC can't possibly be a Sue because she is loaded down with all these faults.
But perfection and fault isn't the problem. The problem is when the author forces the audience to pay attention and tries to get them to love a character who does nothing worthy of interest or love. You got Wesley Crusher being thought of as a Sue, not because he's so bright and capable, but rather because he is overused as a plot device to the point where (for a while) other capable characters were being ignored. Enterprise has a problem -- Wesley to the rescue. Meanwhile, he had the misfortune of being a rather pleasant, modest, genuinely nice person, which sounds on the surface like it's a great thing, but the truth is -- it's boring. Then you get someone like Barklay, who was also ridiculously brilliant, but also fun to watch because he puts so much personality out on the screen every moment he's on camera.
I loved the idea of Wesley much more than the execution of him, because I have a thing for useful bright characters. But during Westley's character creation, for whatever reason, the writers decided to make him as unobjectionable as possible, and so doing lobotomized his personality. In later seasons they tried to correct this, allowing him to make mistakes, but honestly, I don't think they ever truly understood what it was about the character that bothered people. They would have done better if they just let him be sleazy for the girls or something.
