That are not Hurt by Johnny Cash.

Bonus if you dislike or hate the original.

I really don't like the Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends." I love Joe Cocker's version. I think that's the extreme case, in a way.

Oh! I prefer the Joe Cocker version as well. I didn't even realize it was a Beatles song for the longest time.

Blank Space by Imagine Dragons (with a bit of Stand by Me thrown in) is wayyyy better than the original (Taylor Swift) to me. https://youtu.be/CFX8VJUtDgY

Mad World by Gary Jules. I really don't like the Tears for Fears original. Everybody Wants to Rule the World is another song by them where I don't really like their version, but vastly prefer the Lorde cover.

I agree with both of these!

Same for Mad World.

Speaking of Lorde, I much prefer Otep's cover of Royals.

I'm totally vibing on the Post Modern Jukebox covers Particularly the ones with vocals by Haley Reinhart (Seven Nation Army) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB6HY8r983c and Robyn Anderson (Bluegrass Blured Lines is beautiful) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz-OMn1o22Y.

Best of them is the cover of Ushers "I don't mind" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnWJUoR2tFc and I fricking hated that origional sone.

In fact PMJ seem to be made for making me like songs I used to hate.

PMJ is great. Love their cover of Viva la vida.

Everything by Chase Holfelder, especially Fortunate Son. His version is so much more suited to the lyrics than the upbeat original.

Also- What is love by Kiesza, Dark Horse (Type O Negative version) by Anthony Vincent, Stand By Me by Mona, and Can't Hold Us by Pentatonix. I really like covers, so :p

I'm going with all of the cover songs by the Protomen. Picking a single favorite is too hard. From The Cover Up album: No Easy Way Out, In The Air Tonight, Mr. Roboto, Silent Running, and Total Eclipse of the Heart.

hmm..
I think one of my current faves may be skirting the line since they have the original singers [The Oak Ridge Boys] doing it with them but "Elvira" by Home Free (Oh, god, hotness, mrr...)
