I'm not s huge sandwich fan. If I do eat a sandwich, it has to have cheese, onion, tomato, and pickles or relish on it at least. And sweet peppers are great too. Basically, plain sandwiches are boring, I want some spice and some tart.

Oh man. So many.

Cheese savory baps (with salad and pickles) have definitely made their way up the list. I'm also a fan of cheese toasties with ketchup and dill pickles - I know it sounds kind of gross but it's basically a burger without the burger.

I have a major soft spot for vegetable wraps as well, like ...huge ones with everything but the kitchen sink in them. I used to get ones that had cheese, spinach, lettuce, green bell pepper, tomato, onion, carrot, black olives, sprouts, cucumber, mushrooms, sport peppers, pickled jalapenos, and cress in them. Top that off with a bit of dressing (greek or caesar preferably). They would come out weighing like nearly 1lb. It was so glorious.

Torta cubana

Red Leicester cheese with a thick slice of onion on wholemeal bread, with a lot of butter too. The type of onion that gives you dragon breath, but the creamyness of the cheese offsets the burn in your mouth so you just get this mouthwatering burst of flavour and soothing.

Oh man, so many to choose from! Chicago Italian beef, I think.

Cheeseburger with cheddar, mustard, ketchup, onions, dill pickles, lettuce and tomatoes on a sesame bun. Also Cuban sandwiches (roast pork, ham, Swiss, mustard, and dill pickles on a Cuban roll).

Usually an Italian themed sandwich. If it contains pepperoni or prosciutto or a mix of the two then I'm sold.

Ham sandwiches are amazing, especially on sourdough. Also quality veggies sandwiches, especially the ones that have avocado. A good hamburger or fish sandwich can really hit the spot sometimes.

Rye bread, slices of granny smith apple, and slices of swiss cheese toasted.

Also some sort of multi-grain bread, mozzarella cheese, avocado, a sprinkle of salt, and clover sprouts.

Too many to choose just one!

Cuban sandwich
Corned beef/pastrami on rye with mustard
fried bologna
Taylor pork roll
Italian sub - the good kind with salami, cappicola and proscuitto, not that Subway crap
roast beef and horseradish
grilled cheese and a thick slice of homegrown tomato, with fresh basil
Muffaletta
Torta - any kind really, though I love chorizo
Homemade chicken salad sandwich on wheat with slices of avocado

Sliced grilled or baked plain chicken breast (just salt and pepper), provolone cheese, and chopped romaine lettuce mixed with Caesar salad dressing and grated Parmesan cheese on a ciabatta roll.

A chicken and salad sandwish is good, but I think I have to go back to basics and say a toasted tomato sandwich - good home-cooked food.

Rare roast beef and salami with cheese and thin sliced Roma tomatoes
