I'm allergic to almonds, and yes they are. Even things which do not need almond and you cannot and should not taste the almond still have almonds. They are, for some insane reason considering California is still in drought, still incredibly cheap at wholesale so they get flung into anything as filler or cheap decoration. Seriously, fuck almonds.

I'm thankful in that my allergy is very mild (except to walnuts, fuck walnuts), but if I'm already having a reaction, almonds exacerbate the problem. But I avoid all tree nuts on the advice of my doctor, and I cannot believe the things that I eat only to find 'made with almond butter' printed in really tiny font. Why is there almond butter in my granola bar? There are no other nuts in my granola bar. And on that note, why are there exactly two kinds of nut free granola in the health food aisle? And I'm a cosmetologist and I've also had to avoid certain kinds of products before because hey look! Almonds!
