50. I agree. Naruto, the canon, the characters are so well rounded that they are like people. So when people take them and rp them or talk about them on such a surface level its so annoying.
54. Its very rare for large series like Naruto to have good females. While I see how both the fandom and the manga itself are sexist, Kishimoto does a hell of a lot better making women who don’t totally fucking fail and/or are just outrageously pathetic than a lot of others.

They do indeed hold their ground pretty well. The fandom has a great way of trashing it. However this isn't just limited to Naruto (the fandom trashing series and so on).
What I love about Naruto the most though is how its very world-like and realistic it is. If you're actually looking at it past the fandom-like fantasies and of course the dramatics (because, lol, 'chakra' will not actually help you walk on water). Kishimoto does a great job as creating a variety of personalities. Mind you, some could use some work. (Where the fuck did Anko go? Tenten has NO history or character. Ect.)
It's still a lot better than those who are full of women with obscenely large tits haning out of their skimpy suits being the exact same as the other 7643287 women who are also wearing skimpy suits with their tits hanging out.

But yes, even Hinata, the weakest, hold her own. She's not dead weight. And the thing I admire about her is a lot of anime females find their niche, where as Hinata forces herself into the one she wants to achieve. Which I personally think is dumb as a person, BUT I appreciate as an observer that he did something diffrent.
But yes, excatly. Even the females I don't like (or males) generally ARE realistic types of people. I don't like Ino but I don't like people like her IRL and hot damn can you find em. It's not perfect, but I think it's a shit load better then most give it credit for. It's like "Ho shit a male oriented anime has a male protagnist it centers on and a females who took awhile to grow up and had the great crime of being a 12 year old girl. There is no redeeming qualities." (I have discussed a bit more with the OP and that doesn't seem to be HER PoV, but I'm sure there's plenty on her who it is)

I don't know either. She might have has some potential, but because Neji and Lee were on her team and both were relatively developed and known characters I guess they said 'fuck it' to her. She's suppose to be a weapon specialist right? She could have been awesome, but.. well Kishimoto fell out on that one.
I can't say I'm a bit Hinata fan, but she isn't a fall out flat character. Her personality drives me insane, but like you with Ino, people like her IRL drive me insane. Usually.
Sakura. I didn't particularely like that they didn't show her growing up. However, they didn't show Sasuke growing up either. Most of it was all Naruto and than a it turned over to the Akatsuki. However Sasuke's growth rate makes sense if you understand how he works, how Orochimaru works, and how Kabuto works. Sakura's growth also makes sense if you understand how she works, and how Tsunade would have killed her by accident if she didn't shape up.
The fandom turns people off. I know that its not that horrible and you can find some awesome people in it, but it has its large area of stupid, immature, fangirl/boyishly ridicules. And seeing a group of those type of Naruto fans? I can see how it would automatically push in the "this animanga sucks because of blahblahblah". As for Male centered? Eh, there's worse series. It had some very redeeming women.
I know someone who took the Manga in concideration with the assloads of mythology and history it has in it. Which is another thing. There's a tonne of history, mythology, and psychology all packed in to it. Its a good series.
Just sometimes it can have its pits.

I dunno, the weapons things was cool but the few times she opened her mouth I wanted to scream. But a cool power.
I'm not fond of her either, and I don't quiet get the fannish devotion to her, but I can see some qualities that are...intresting to read.
I was just discussing with a friend how I wish there was more time for things like Kakashi Gaiden that gave a little bit of a look to something beside the
twomain characters. But on the other hand if he was suddenly like "Pause while I have 2 months of Sakura's bck story!" I might have to find the money to go to Japan and strangle him :3 I dunno where it'd fit in well. But I really wish it was there.I think it's just that it's such a HUGE fandom...and being aimed at, an avalible to a younger audience you just get SO MUCH more dumb.
Dude, once I figured out Naruko had mythological relevance and wasn't just fanservice, I was hooked.
