As someone who loves Jeannie a lot, I don't get this at all. His character always bored me. I'm kind of curious if you see her as enjoying the sex at all, or if her evident boredom is part of the kink?

I definitely saw it as a combination of daddy issues and ruthless ambition. She's very good at fucking up her personal life, but she doesn't let her misery get in the way of her success. The whole appeal of the show for me is that the characters are terrible and ruthless, but I forgive them because they hate themselves for being terrible.

(though I haven't seen the last season... please no spoilers!)
