I'm confused by the first part of the secret. It's just a joke, anon. There are literally not enough female characters in the show to make anyone actually wish it were a lesbian series.

Also, I don't think I would've liked it much if it were straight. The fact that it was gay was by far the most interesting part about it, unless you're watching for the ice skating aesthetics alone.

I wish I'd saved the receipts to prove that it wasn't a joke. To some people it was, but to enough it wasn't. Even some people who liked it say they're still disappointed that it wasn't about lesbians because it would have been even better.

NAYRT

Even some people who liked it say they're still disappointed that it wasn't about lesbians because it would have been even better.

I think that's a perfectly legitimate point of view, if you just really like lesbians. It doesn't have to be an indictment of the series to be the way that some people feel.

They can be disappointed because they would have liked it more, but it wouldn't have been better. It would have been a less-good show that they would have liked more due to subjective preferences.

Sure, I agree. I'm just saying, I think if people are saying that, it's fine.

I don't watch this anime - but why would it have been objectively less good if it had been about women? Sounds more like thats you're subjective preference as well.

Why would it have been less good? Wouldn't it be like the same, just genderswapped?

Isn't it all subjective preferences, though, when it comes to art?

Yes, which is why no matter what anyone else tells me, I can't be objectively wrong for thinking Stephenie Meyer is a better writer than Shakespeare.

it makes absolutely no sense that you're saying thinking a show is better with lesbians is subjective (sure it is), but have decided that said hypothetical lesbian show would be objectively "less-good"
