Same and same.

[As an aside: I swear a lot more when I write on the internet than in any other venue of communication. Maybe because it communicates emphasis better than HTML tags?]

When people frequently use a lot of profanity IRL, it doesn't ~offend me so much as it makes me want to say, "It's okay, you can relax."

I do, too! I think in my case it's that I just feel more comfortable writing it than saying it aloud I do swear occasionally in real life (like when I bang up a body part or when I'm having a particularly bad day or whatever), but for some reason I just feel weird saying swear words aloud a lot of the time.

As for other people swearing, it doesn't bother me. It's a little jarring sometimes to hear every other word out of somebody's mouth being a cuss word (and depending on the context it can read as somebody trying to sound tougher than they really are), but if that's how other people talk, then...*Shrugs*. To each their own.

On a similarly related note, I also think bleeping out swear words in TV shows or movies is so ridiculous. Either show the movie/show uncensored or don't show it at all, the stuff they substitute in just sounds so stupid and weakens the impact the original swear word had on the scene/line.
