Without looking it up and basing it on what I remember from podcasts....isn't US Agent like...a Captain America clone? OR is he someone who got the Super Serum and went a little homicidal crazy for a bit?

He's sort of a white Southern Captain America knockoff. He was Captain America for in-universe political reasons for a little while in the 1980's comics. I don't remember if he went homicidal crazy, but as I recall someone killed his parents when he was Captain America, and I think that sent him into a bad place for a little while.

I like the role the character plays in the book, in that he comes from this socially conservative background and is a bit of an asshole, but he's trying to be a good guy (and mostly is).
