Never watched a single episode myself but all I've been hearing about it is bad stuff. Sounds like it's almost universally hate even by it's own fans at the moment.

There's definitely still plenty of fans who love the show out there. I used to be into the show, and I'm still very into the fanfic, so I've kept up with a lot of the diehard fans - many of whom are currently speaking positively of the new material.

Whether those fans will feel the same in a couple of years, however, remains to be seen.

Every fandom I've been in, whenever new material comes out, there's always a fairly large bunch of fans who say they love the new material. But if the new material is actually pretty bad, get back to everyone a year or two later, and it always seems that many of the people who loved the new material at first have cooled off and now feel let down by how bad it actually was.

I always find it really strange to watch happen, because it's just not something I can relate to. For me, no matter how much I love a story, if the new material is bad, then it's bad, even if that breaks my heart.
