That's how I felt during Suicide Squad. I thought they just sort of shoved all the characters at you without making you care for them. Since they're "villains" I wanted more backstory. I just couldn't get through the movie, but the soundtrack is amazing.

Yeah bringing together a group of iconic villains makes very little sense when you've not even had those villains in a movie to fight a hero or two. Suicide Squad should have been something worked into the movie franchise down the line, after at least a few of them had been introduced in other movies.
