Re: Captain America: Civil War

Yeah, I agree, Captain America came across as a dick a lot of the time. It seemed like a weak reason to justify fancy superhero vs superhero action scenes, when it felt like more realistically, being friends and all, they would've just let him go.

I also had a problem with the fact that he knew something about the extra Winter Soldiers and the guy behind it all, and Team Iron Man wouldn't even give him the benefit of the doubt and have an adult conversation about it. And then Iron Man's computer thing tells him Cap was right all along, and it's like, the stereotypical "lack of communication" plot. I didn't think the Winter Soldier killing Iron Man's parents was a good end twist, either, if it had been revealed at the start it would've justified the emotional wedge between them a lot better. It also seemed like the evil dude's plan relied on a climax that very well may not have played out: that is, not only Captain America/Bucky going to the secret base, but Iron Man having a last minute change of heart and going as well. How in the world could you have accounted for that?

I'm way behind on the DC stuff. I want to catch up, but I wasn't a fan of the Batman trilogy (especially the trainwreck third film) so I'm not quite I'll enjoy the newest stuff. Argh I wish I could just shut up and enjoy superheroes, but I feel like I always leave them tearing them apart in my head.
