I am slightly comforted that, while we don't have Iroh, we basically get to see what young Iroh was like in Zuko. Silver sandwich!
I'm sure if you look hard, you'll find some Song/Zuko wank. I'll never forget when I stumbled on an "essay" on ff.n about why Jin sucked because she had really big boobs. I don't know what was worse, that, or the oodles of comments agreeing. *sigh*
I haven't cosplayed in ages, but my friends do. Non-competively, but still, the time, effort, and money invested...not for the faint of heart (as opposed to my quick-and-crappy steam-a-seamed stuff).

As far as I know, Zuko/Song was never the cause of any wank--usually on the receiving end, back when she first appeared. At the time, I wasn't part of fandom then, but I hear it was quite disastrous. Poor, innocent, compassionate Song was branded with the usual 'slutbag' and 'bitch' as is with the usual fangirl-tard vitriol. It's died down since then, but all the same, there has been very little if any Zuko/Song wank. Thankfully.
I thought Jin was adorable--her boob-bending was just a hilarious, unintentional animator glitch, I'm sure. Nonetheless, loltastic.
I cosplay, and it is an expensive hobby, but if you build it gradually, pieces at a time, it can be quite cheap. Those Joann's preferred customer coupons are a godsend. X_X Usually, whenever I see cosplay drama, it's usually to do with the competitive aspect of it.
