I get a lot of second hand embarrassment from cosplay. I know they are doing it because they think it's fun and don't care what others think, but 99% of the cosplay out there makes me cringe.

It's even worse when they start making videos and acting as the characters.

One of the most cringey things are pairing shootings where two crossplaying chicks try to reenact their favourite hawt yaoi fantasies.

I hate to say it, but if the cosplayers in question are hot, the costumes are good, and the photoshoot is high quality, then to me it is the greatest thing in the world.

I really don't judge your average fujoshi cosplayer for doing it, I just think, please keep this on the internet strictly under alias because you are not gonna want someone to google you and find this later on in life. I fully admit when I was 17, I did a yaoi cosplay with my female friend and we made out for the camera, but between the wig, breast binding, and heavy makeup, you'd never recognize me. And thankfully that was before that shit got inevitably linked to you via Facebook.

I disagree with you one the first point, but I realize that's you and I have my own opinion.

But unless it's for a skit at a contest, the videos of IC cosplay just weird me the fuck out, yeah. Especially if it's to "ship" characters. It never feels IC and never feels real as far as "feelings" go.

The videos are definitely embarrassing but I appreciate good cosplay from an artistic point of view.

Plus we're at the point now where some cosplayers are more impressive then some of the costumes you see in television and movies, so that's fun to see.

I love cosplay for the costuming and the creativity and the research angles, but I can't stand the acting like the character part. It's part of why I don't do it anymore - I didn't like feeling pressured to act out a character. I just wanted to wear nifty clothes.

Yeah, I find cosplaying embarrassing and roleplaying even more so.

But videos of weebs weebing and other embarrassing nerd stuff doesn't make me feel anything. Take these video for instance.
