Why do the veins in my hands sometimes become more prominent and make my hands look blue? Should I be concerned?

Most of that is about veins always being visible. What confuses me is when they sometimes become more prominent and than fade away again after a while. I have no idea what causes that.

The more hydrated you are, the more visible the veins become. But if your whole hand is blue, it could possibly be a circulation problem.

I know I have circulation problems in general and this is probably part of that. Partly I'm just really curious about the specific reason this happens biologically.

Is it a temperature thing? The veins in my hands and feet become more prominent the warmer i am.
