Re: Moisturizing?
(Anonymous) 2017-01-10 05:06 am (UTC)(link)My routine:
Morning: wash face using glycerine soap. Moisturize using coconut oil (shine factor is about 3)
Evening: wash face using glycerine soap. Moisturize using olive oil. (shine factor about 8).
This works best for me, and my skin type is combination (oily forehead, nose, dry cheeks. I find coconut to be a lighter oil, which is why i use it during the day. If it gets cold/my cheeks are exposed, I always carry some cocoa butter (stick) with me.)
Lotions can be for body and skin. After a shower, I use olive and Palmer's Cocoa Butter original solid. I used to use Shiseido's Pureness set for a while when I was too young to be using them(say...13? 14? Possibly until I was 15. I was all about having a good skin care regimen), but they were fabulous.
I also recommend Gold Bond's Ultimate Daily Moisturizing moisturizing lotion, as well as Aveeno's Moisturizing lotions (they make lotions for the face, it's always best to try one for sensitive skin or for babies on your face). I've heard Jergen's and Roc is good too. I used
I will also recommend Pond's Cold Cream and Moisturizer. I use the cold cream occasionally at night.
It's important to get something for your eyes as well. I used to use Avon's eye cream, but as I'm just using oils, I don't use it anymore. Maybe I should...
I hope this was helpful!
Re: Moisturizing?
(Anonymous) 2017-01-10 05:08 am (UTC)(link)It's also important to exfoliate in between, making sure to slough off the dead skin cells that remain! Using a loofah or wash rag is good for your body. I try to do a brown sugar and honey paste to rub on my face after washing it, and follow it up with rubbing an ice cube along my face. There is most likely no scientific evidence behind these remedies, but my skin looks good after the fact (and not just the day of).
