I found an onion ring in my fries as a child one Wednesday on our way to middle week church and I had a fear of them for about ten years afterward.

I love them now tbh

I think everyone has a story like that! When I was 4 Burger king had both chicken (or was it cheese?) sticks and jalapeno sticks and they put the wrong one in my kids meal. My mom says it was the first and last time she ever yelled at someone in the service industry. Food is always worse when you are expecting it to be something else, even if it's a food you like.

I drank milk a lot as a child, until one night I was at a restaurant and ordered milk and got spoiled milk. I never drank plain milk again after that, until I tried it once in my twenties (and was totally "meh" about it, so I didn't do it again). When I started school, I drank chocolate milk only.

Ughhh that's happened to me with the bottled stuff at gas stations. I love milk though, so I have powered through, but I still have visceral reactions to other foods. Like when I was 14 and got really into sweet potatoes with brown sugar, until the one night I put too much sugar on and got sick. I still won't eat them.

Something similar happened to my sister in elementary school and she still doesn't drink milk. She eats ice cream and pours half and half into her coffee but does not drink milk.
