I was afraid of bathrooms/toilets (combo hit of IT and evil older brothers) and so as a child wouldn't always lock the door. This led to me being walked in on while on the toilet numerous occasions in numerous locations (my own fault really), but now it's lead to a fear of being walked in on in bathrooms so I can't use one unless it has strong locks. Like, mine had a regular knob lock but I installed a bolt lock so I can visually see it's actualfax locked. I get so nervous in bathrooms that don't have those types of locks. I don't trust the doorknob locks.

You came full circle, then! It sucks how things can stick with you from when you're little, but at least this is something you could fix in your own home!

I also have a fear of being walked in on in the toilet/bathroom/bedroom. Our downstairs toilet doesn't have a lock on it, so I have a wooden chock that I push under the door every time I'm in there. I remember as a teenager I used to get dressed directly behind my bedroom door, so I could slam it closed again if it opened.

Omg I was the same! I got locked in a bathroom when I was young and it was terrifying, so for YEARS i would refuse to lock the door and just held it closed with my hand/foot.
