(Anonymous) 2017-01-13 01:00 am (UTC)(link)I lean towards G, because the situations/plot of the story are clearly G, but I don't know if someone would get pissy about the language if it were?

(Anonymous) 2017-01-13 01:58 am (UTC)(link)"Mild" swear words like "damn", "hell", and "ass" get PG. Basically, the curses you can use on network broadcast prime time without getting bleeped.
If there's more than one "fuck", it gets bumped from "T" to "R".
Fortunately, I mostly write smut, so the rating on most of my fics is NC-17 anyway. ;p

(Anonymous) 2017-01-13 02:14 am (UTC)(link)tl;dr: if it's got a lot of fucks but no sex or violence, go with T. no fucks at all, G. fucks plus sex and/or violence, T+ based on the sex and violence.

If anything stronger is involved, I'd give it a T/PG-13, just to be on the safe side.
