I'd only put the caveat on Schindler's List that it needs to come alongside some serious discussion about the way that mainstream media portrays the Holocaust, the effect this specific movie had on historical memory in context of the way media in general can affect historical memory, and the question of narratives of victimization and their perspectives. (in addition to general understanding of what actually was going on at that time).
But in conjunction with these things, yeah. It could be very important.
