That's not true. There's plenty of fic where a male actor doms a female reader insert, or an original female character who's a thinly-veiled reader insert

now anything outside of that -

Eh, hetero ships are definitely neglected by fandom when here is a preferred slash pairing(s) but I've been in fandoms with popular hetero ships and tbh the kinky stuff is exactly the same.

Except the hetero shipping seems to attract more of the blatant self-insert reader x character type of writing by always being from the female character POV and using 1st person pronouns which is kinda what turned me off from reading fics for awhile.
