Honestly the fact that you could intervene at all in W_D2 sounds a lot better than the scenes you'd hack yourself into in 1. Some of them were really, disgustingly voyeuristic and felt more like the writer was checking off some list of "serious topics" s/he had to address to make the game A Game For Adults, Look How Serious We're Being Ha Ha Death & Rape.

Not sure where I was going with that other than, I'm sorry this affected you so deeply, and depending on where you fall re: spoilers, it may be cathartic for you to look up exactly what the success ending is. (Assuming W_D2's definition of success is not warped like it was in 1.)
