I don't think OP was traumatized. (Correct me if I'm wrong!) I do think intense, fictional experiences are good for people. Even ones that feel bad and disturbing.

The main thing is that it wasn't real. But, as someone else said, now OP has a virtual experience that might translate to action is the real thing happens.
