Um

Lex Luthor is generally thought of as a Superman villain. Gene Hackman's performance in the original movie (Superman, 1978) was over the to, but worked. I liked Michael Rosenbaum's (Smallville). Kevin Spacey's was not great (Superman Returns). I could take or leave John Shea's (Lois and Clark). I like Jesse Eisenberg and I've liked all of his performances that I've seen (even Cursed), so I sort of wish I had any desire at all to watch Batman v Superman, but I don't want that Superman or that Batman.

Anyway, Keanu Reeves. I don't think he's unpopular exactly, just a lot of people seem to think he has very limited acting range or is stupid. He does have a very blank resting expression and a slow speech cadence which, I think, contributes, but I think the real issue is that his role in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure sort of cemented in a lot of people's minds. Now, do I think there are some roles that haven't suited him? Yes, but for the most part I've enjoyed many of his performances.

I like Gwyneth Paltrow's acting, some of the other stuff she does, I'm a little iffy on.

I like Keanu Reeves, but the people directing him have got to stop letting him do accents. He's Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins bad at accents.

The worst one was his southern accent in The Devil's Advocate, mostly because on top of being a terrible southern accent it was also a completely unnecessary southern accent. Dude was supposed to be a Gainesville, FL native. Anyone in Gainesville with a southern accent is probably from Georgia.
