Oh, I don't know about a majority, but there are like 5 or 6 independent people in the thread on page 1 talking about how just mentioning pot pisses them off.

Well, I just glanced at those threads and I'm mostly getting the vibe that they are arguing not everyone does it, and it feels out of place to throw it in with certain characters.

Which is, like, fair. Up to interpretation, but fair.

It's one thing to say that it's out of character for some people, but there are a million things that are out of character that show up all the time in fanfiction, and it's certainly not out of character all the time. But people are talking about it as though it shouldn't ever show up; and more, in a way where it really comes across as though they're angry and resentful about people talking about it, and about how when people talk about it they're somehow "making it seem like everybody does it".

...I don't see that at all in that secret thread. I see people saying they don't like it when others assume it's commonplace but not that talking about it makes it seem like it is. You sound defensive.
