It's possible I misread the secret, but I didn't get the vibe that the OP wanted the ship to become canon. More that Peter and Mo never interact anymore, so all the fans drifted away.

Yeah, I agree. I think the OP is bitching because she (or he I guess) is shipping alone, but instead of trying to revive the ship she/he/it is blaming canon for them not having any scenes together. Which is ridiculous because Sylar/Peter is still going on its merry way with little from canon.

The problem with Peter/Mo (and I say this as someone who thinks it has the potential to be a hot ship) is that they don't have exciting chemistry as characters - they're both good guys, trying to do what's right and that's great but kinda dull. At least Matt/Mo has the domesticity angle for some added depth. And I haven't read much fic that convinces me otherwise.

If the OP thinks the ship is so great they should stop bitching and try to revive it - write some fic that gets people thinking and writing, do a prompt challenge, P&M is dead in the water (only like 5 posts in the past month) so it seems like all the OP is doing is passively sitting back and bitching that people aren't catering to her. Ugh, if you're so emotionally invested in it, get proactive and other shippers will come out of the woodwork.

To be completely fair, I wish it was that easy, but it really isn't. Sometimes, you advertize, and write fic and go on everyone's nerves, and the fandom is still dead as a doornail. And that can suck.
If my fandom's comm got five posts per month, I'd be happy. XD

I agree it may be a losing battle but I'd still have more sympathy with the OP if there was some evidence they'd advertized, written fic and gotten on everyone's nerves about it. If you aren't going to at least try then aren't you (general you) part of the problem?

Wow, I sound really invested in this but I'm actually not. I still kinda want P+M to meet up in s3 (doesn't Mo still think Peter is dead?) because I like the hotness levels of Sendhil and Milo in proximity to each other.

I never saw any hotness there, probably because I don't find Peter attractive in the least. I would like to have them meet up so Peter can say thanks to Mohinder for saving his ass. It'd just be interesting to have two characters interact again who haven't interacted in a while, and have gone through some major changes. That's really all, but it should be enough. :)

Maybe I'm at a disadvantage because I don't know who wrote the secret - I'm new to the fandom and I don't know who anyone is. I was just thinking in terms of the comm compared to say Sylar/Maya (now there's an unpopular ship) where even though there's even less people posting, a couple of people still post really regularly and enjoy doing there thing. I guess, for me, it does come down to 'why does your ship have to be popular for you to enjoy it?' but I guess it's understandable to want to have someone to squee over it with. :D

Peter is the hotness but I won't hold your bad taste against you, lol. He does need to do some serious thanking of people and not be so self-involved though...

I know they don't want it to be "canon" in the sense of canonically fucking like bunnies; I mean "canon" in the same sense the secret is using it, just "interact more" as you also say. But in my mind Peter and Mohinder never even interacted much to begin with, and certainly never had such a deep understanding of each other that was later dropped because of sloppy writing in the canon, or anything, so I still don't think it's possible for the canon to ruin this ship. It'd be a different story if they were BFFs in season one and never even thought about each other in season two, which ... is just not the case?

And also, as a rule, I don't think canon can ruin any ship. Just ship and be merry; being bitter about canon not giving you this and that (as opposed to playfully going "aw man, I'd kill to see them in the same frame, they're so hot!") just leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouths. Or in mine, at least.
