2nd, In another reply to my comment, I answered that I interpreted the character being 12, not the mun. Obviously it's very different if the person playing was 12.
3rd. You shouldn't consider yourself messed up regardless of what happened in the past. Don't feel embarrassed. I have some regrettable stories of a similar vein myself, and I'm sure we aren't the only ones either. They're usually of a don't ask, don't tell kind of thing, that's why you don't hear of it often.
We all have to go through some hard wake up calls. Some that, ideally, shouldn't happen but they do. The important thing is that it's over with and you can carry on with your life. Some can't even go that far--they're dead. I'm not convinced it's made you a weaker person; quite the opposite. You can probably help others who've gone through similar situations so they don't have to go through the same ordeal.
