Aaahhhaaa, okkkaayyyy, I get it now. I see how you'd read it that way, so no worries. I just tend to associate things with physical pain pretty fast, as opposed to emotional--gee thanks, inner sadist. I don't think the OP really meant to sound sexist, but it did sorta come out that way now that I read it with your comment in mind :x Poor choice of words is all.

Most of it comes from what I've seen of that type of work, which is basically: "Oh Seme! I neeeeeeeed yoooouuu," wibbles the poor, little uke with tears glistening in his blue/silver/emerald orbs.

But you're probably right. Poor choice of words, I just wish people would think a little bit more sometimes.

I live in Ohio, in a super!conservative city. Which basically equates to if you're not pretty, you're not important. :) Oh, America.

Ah, I see. I admit I've read quite a few of those in my time, but they do get monotonous after a while. Funnily enough, though, I've also read ones wherein the seme is the needy, teary one--less often, though, and usually more on the comedic side.

If people thought more, the world wouldn't have half of its problems.

Ergh, if it makes you feel any better my town is nicknamed "The Holy City." Mmyeah, you can deduct what I'm implying there. I don't think I've ever seen anything like "not pretty = not important," though, damn. That's really harsh, not to mention false. In any case, I echo your "Oh, America" and couple it with a heaving sigh.
