I'm the anon who sometime last week mentioned ditching an old account for a new one due to being on the wrong side of wank. I did not understand why casting white people in The Last Airbender was bad because they all looked white to me (a white person). I was very young and stupid.

AYRT I think the best part of that disaster was that I considered myself even then to be really passionate about racism and stuff like that. And you know, a lot of people think that way when they don't understand something, but I stubbornly refused to be taught.

In all fairness, Aang really looks white. Until his black hair grows in, but even then. I think the kid they cast in the live action one looked just like Aang, white or note.

I think a lot of people agreed that Noah Ringer (?) looked a hell of a lot like Aang. But the casting in general was such a clusterfuck that it just did not help.
