I don't know what is worse, the "Japanese aren't good at English" generalization, or the "it's not that difficult" bs.

Oh, sure, learning to say "hello," "thank you," or "this is a book" is not hard, but attempting to form a basic sentence in a language with help of an online translator you don't know will only result in gibberish.
