I used to be really pro-life when I was younger. It was just what I was taught in church and I never really questioned it because I had no reason to. Then the church I went to started bashing gay people and that didn't jive with the "God loves everybody" message, so I started questioning everything I'd been taught and left the church.

My dad is still super pro-life. He knows I'm liberal, progressive, and socialist. The two things he doesn't know are that I'm bi and pro-choice. I'm not sure which would make him more angry, and I don't really want to find out.

I'm sorry your dad's like that. My cousin came out last year and I was really worried about how our families would react, but most of them were surprisingly okay with it. His super conservative parents only told him that he'd better marry a nice, church-going boy. It was weird, but a strange kind of good weird.

Yes, I've decided that I'll only come out with them if I have to, honestly, at least for the time being. If I start dating a girl, I'll tell them then. Right now, I'm living at home and being supported by them while I look for a job. So coming out isn't feasible right now.
