It was the only year in memory that we got store bought costumes! I was very young, but I remember being over the moon about it.

Store bought costumes always feel like the best thing ever as a kid no matter how cheap. My mom always sewed our costumes and I love my mom but she does not have a talent for it lol.

I think the only store costume I ever wore was an old princess dress of my sisters, I never got bought a costume but apparently at one point she did.

Right? As an adult the homemade ones or kid-created ones are the best, but as a kid there is just something about that store bought costume. Of course nowadays there are admittedly some pretty awesome ones. But in the 80s? Not so much.

My mom actually sewed a She-Ra costume for me when I was in second grade, and it was awesome.
