Re: What aren't you watching?

I haven't seen any of the commercials other than the ones that aired before it started, but I definitely buy that people are like "I do not even care about weight drama and baby daddy drama and whatever the hell else is going on here." I know, because I was almost one of them! :D The only thing that made give it a shot was the lost baby story line and a general liking of Milo Ventimiglia and Justin Hartley.

It's not even about specific dramas it's just how they frame the commercials in a very manipulative way that makes it feel like, "You MUST care about this!" And like they expect me to cry about characters I'm not even familiar with.

You have to get me into a story before you can actively try to tug at my heart strings, trying to do it right off the bat just turns me off.

Yeah, manipulative is a good way to say it. After five or six episodes, I still didn't care about the characters, but there's all this stuff happening that's supposed to be moving or touching and it just didn't feel earned to me.

I'm definitely one of those people.

My mom and my sister are watching it, so I've heard it going on in the background, and it still doesn't seem all that interesting.
