Huh. Huuuuuh. I always associated them with fursuits and stuff. Now I'm getting horrible flashbacks to all that furry porn I remember stumbling upon. Does that mean liking Bugs or Mickey makes you a furry?

The fursuiters are a type of furry, I'm a furry and I'm not into fursuits. The most basic definition is just someone who likes anthro characters. I wouldn't count JUST liking Bugs or Mickey as being a furry, in the same way as just reading/enjoying Harry Potter doesn't make you a Potterhead. But if you make an animal character of yourself to put into the world alongside Bugs/Mickey then you're getting into furry territory

Aaah, okay. Thanks for clarifying! This whole furry thing is a bit confusing to me.

DA Being a furry is a bit like being "A fantasy fan" there's so many ways to be a fan that you ask 10 different people how to explain/define it you're going to get 10 different answers.

And it doesn't help that since being a furry has a reputation you get the equivalent of "Well sure I love Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings and have read through half Fantasy section of the library and own a life sized Iron Throne replica, but I wouldn't call myself a fantasy fan. I'm more of a 'mystical alternative history enthusiast'. " Which just complicates trying to define it.

Ha! That's a good analogy. Yeah, I just kinda lumped them into the "if they draw fanart of themselves as animals/dress up as them then they are furries", if that makes sense?
