But the cosplayers are who got me to really like Deadpool. Before that, Deadpool was just a comic I read every so often. Then the cosplayers got me to laugh my ass off. The movie made me a forever DP fan.

Oh good, it's not just me who has come to hate absolutely everything about this character thanks to cosplayers who use it as an excuse to be an asshole because they're wearing a mask and can't as easily be caught. I don't care if it's "in character." It doesn't give you the right to go harassing people or do disgusting things at conventions. (Plus I just plain don't like "heroes" whose entire MO is to be assholes.)

This might surprise you, but a character isn't the same thing as all the people who cosplay that character.

I feel like OP isn't saying that every single Deadpool cosplayer individually is too annoying, but that a great deal of them try too hard to be "random and zany" that they cross the line into "this isn't fun for people."

Didn't that well-known Deadpool cosplayer (D. Piddy?) make a video that was like "common courtesy for Deadpool cosplayers"?

I am a Short, Fat, Female, Aussie Deadpool..... I just like doing photos when people ask. Not trying to outdo anybody, just enjoying the convention. Have only done it once though.
