Re: Actual serious question: With trigger warnings for potential racism,so you know it's serious.

In my opinion: it's more of a grey area. Because there's a bit of a fuzzy confusing overlap between "fantasizing against violence against a racial group" and "fantasizing against violence against oppression", and the latter kind of fantasy is - I think - less bad. I think it's intellectually incorrect to equate the oppression with white people as a racial group as a whole. But to me, it's a different kind of mistake than the mistake of hating all black people because you hate all black people, or of hating all white people because you hate all white people.

Yeah. Do you see the other group as vermin that you wish someone would get rid of or that you could get rid of yourself, or as your oppressors who you want to overcome violently? One is worse, regardless of what groups it involves.

If it were white people feeling it about other white people the former would still still be worse. Rich white people want to get rid of the poor all the time, and poor people hate rich white people with a passion. The rich white people seeing "the poors" as scum and wanting to "clean house" is definitely worse than poor people who want to kill the uber billionaires for breaking the economy.

Does that make the latter okay? I wouldn't think so. People do a lot of not-okay things in anger. It doesn't make them right.

I agree. It's a very grey area and a tough discussion, but I definitely believe there is a difference. At least there is when you're talking about American culture and expressing those kinds of thoughts.

Neither is good, but I do think there are different levels going on.
