Yes, but how often is that the norm. As opposed to like 5 loud people?

Pretty common? I have filters set, but I see 4-5 posts filtered for some variation on pedo terms every day, and every time I've clicked to see if it's something like "Jaysus H Christ people Gandalf/Galadriel isn't pedo for fucks sake" it never is.

I've seen none on my dash. The only reason I know there is a bunch in Voltron is because people tell me.

Yeah, you have to go into tags to see most of the open posts about it, or happen to follow someone who posts asks where they've been accused of it.
I see a lot of it because I run a fandom blog that filters through the tags and reblogs fanart. So none ever makes it into my blog, but if I didn't have filters in place I'd probably get burnt out really quick.

I don't think people pay enough attention to who all is causing the big stink. Like in the Sherlock fandom. There was TONS of drama about the whole "bottom John is pedophilia" BS. But it was all created by a group of 4-5 people that were all friends with each other.

The ringleaders were 4 or 5 people, but they had a lot of followers who were happy to jump on the bullying bandwagon.

It may have only been 5 or so people initially but considering the following those 5 people had and the things they did within the fandom (doxing people, the filming of CSA survivors and posting it online with real names attached) I think just saying its only a few people doesn't do the issue justice. It may have been started by a few people but the effects were far reaching and well enough to spoil an entire fandom.

Except they are not. They just have limited personal experience of something that is extremely common in all kinds of fandoms. Had it myself in an old fandom circa 2004.
