Ah, ok. Because after some of the stuff DBF.net has pulled in their podcasts, I take memes like that skeptically until I see some objective source.

Of course, they never specified that the Aang-Katara romance was requited; Aang very obviously loves her, but Katara's feelings have been more than ambiguous. So while it may indeed be in the "DNA of the thing," it could very well be the recessive trait, not the dominant one.

How is it delusional? Katara has never indicated she reciprocates. In fact, she indicated the opposite in DOBS with her reaction to the kiss; it was deliberately ambiguous, so sayeth the show staff themselves in the DVD commentary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K26eGTidTo). And in the trailer, she backs away with a pretty clear "DO NOT WANT" expression.

How that translates into "omgz ilu 2," I'll never know.

In fact, she indicated the opposite in DOBS with her reaction to the kiss.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's not what happened. And also, that wasn't even their first kiss. Katara was the one who suggested it before, if you recall. As for the trailer. Out of context scenes=evidence, okay? And um, kisses are hardly the only proof for the pairing.

I haven't seen canon denial this strong amongst shippers since the sixth HP book.

I still fail to see how saying "canon hasn't made up its mind yet" = delusional. If I were delusional, I'd be saying "Zutara IS canon LALALALALA I DUN HEAR YOU"

Right now? Neither ship is canon. I personally don't care if Zutara ends up canon or not. But I'm also not about to say that Kataang is totally endgame and anyone who believes otherwise is deluding themselves because since the show hasn't ended yet, I don't know that. And neither do you.

But I think the mindset a lot of people have is that it was "Aang-Katara romance" not "Aang's romantic feelings" and until proven otherwise people are going to take what the creator's said as being strong indications (especially with episodes like the Headband and such) as to the direction of the show.

I think that is why people are a bit stubborn. Just an insight...LOL :D

I figured that much. All I'm saying is that canon has yet to make up its mind, so I get pretty annoyed that one set of fans is labeled "delusional" when nobody knows anything for definite. Speculation is not delusional as long as you acknowledge it's still speculation.
