22. Oh, yaoi fandom. You never cease to amaze. And never in a good way...
55. Could be worse. Could be like the short-lived anime club at my college, which was all maladjusted Narutards going around all the time thinking they were "hard" for knowing all the jutsu.
60. While I can't say much for the idea of respecting a fiction character (the hell?), I do have to admit I find it rather silly to dislike a Gurren-Lagann character for having an abrasive, over-the-top personality. It's a cartoon, and a cartoon where everything is taken to absurd exaggeration and played to be completely non-serious, so I don't see the point in getting offended when a thwarted villain beats on their bumbling subordinate in an over-exaggerated, overtly comedic fashion. Hell, that very situation, in itself, is as old as film itself, for fuck's sake. Are we going to get up in arms when Moe pops Curly now, or when Rocky caps Mugsy for letting Bugs Bunny get away? It's all the same thing.
Personally, I like Adiane. And I like her for the same reasons everyone (including myself) likes Kamina. They're absolutely over-the-top personalities played for pure entertainment, designed to perpetuate the show's sense of absurd stylization. They're made to be fun and entertaining to watch (one in the capacity of an eccentric hero, the other in the capacity of an eccentric baddie), and that's about it.
And yes, the fact that she was kinda hot for a scorpion chick didn't hurt matters any.
