Wow, OP! How did you figure out the the difference? Uh... asking for a friend who has lots of moles.

It was discovered during my physical. It's hiding under my boob, so it took a while before I decided to take him up on the "have any strange moles you want to ask about?" question that he apparently asks everyone at the end of the exam.

I asked him how he knew, and it's pretty much this: If you trace a line from your nipple down to your groin, that's your old mammal milk line. If there's something that looks like a slightly bumpy mole on or close to this line, it's probably a vestigial nipple from grand ye olden days when we were critters that had more than two. The other hint is that it's nipple colored. I never would've figured because mine's super tiny, it's about a quarter the size of my pinky nail, but I guess they're usually not very big?
