Re: Weapons

There is no good weapon for taking on the govt.

For general purposes of arming yourself if shit goes wrong... Pepper spray for your handbag/backpack, if it's legal in your area. Knives are handy as general purpose tools, though not recommended for fighting unless there's absolutely no other choice. Cold Steel finn wolf is good if you want a great knife that will actually work as a weapon, but the locking mechanism is VERY strong so may be troublesome. (If you get a knife, PRACTICE folding and unfolding it until you can do it easily without looking, practice holding it in different ways, try different moves and see what feels good, practice stabbing watermelons or something, etc. Knife does no good if you aren't comfortable with it. And yes, you will probably hurt yourself but that's part of the learning process. Just try not to lose fingers!)

A gun might be good if legal where you are. My favorites are the CZ P-07 and P-09, since they have soft feel when shooting, easy to control. But, you'd have to look at reviews and decide what you want for yourself! 2-4 months is potentially 2-4 months of classes, plus plenty of days to practice at a range.

More generally, though...
Get in shape, learn how to be aware of your surroundings, read up on your rights when dealing with the cops and govt, make back-up plans like setting aside cash money, have a (reasonable) stock of useful supplies like food and a set of emergency clothing(read up on modern shortages like in Venezuela to get a better idea of what to have). It's also never a bad idea to learn practical skills like plumbing or electricity or car repair, since maybe the economy goes to shit and you can't afford such services?
