I didn't realize electrolysis had better results - what's the main difference?

Form what I understand it is supposed to be more permanent because it completely destroys the hair follicle.

Never did laser on my face, but I did do a few sessions on my legs. I wasn't able to afford more than three. And my hair is back to the exact same thickness as it was before the laser. Whereas, the places where I've done electrolysis (face, underarms mostly), there are only a few occasional hairs that pop up now, and when they do I just go back in for a short retouch session and then those hairs are gone.

I think part of it is that for me it hurts less than laser, so I can have it at a higher setting which I'm sure makes it more effective.
