Huh. I was a huge Hartnell fan before Billie Piper was ever born. At some point I've written fanfic about every single Doctor's era (including tons of stuff about Susan, his granddaughter).

I'm a huge Doctor/Rose shipper.

Oh of course there's exceptions. Mostly I'm turned off by really bad OTP type icons/irrational shippy beliefs-- of ANY ship in ANY fandom, but mostly Doctor/Rose. Moderation, people, moderation.

And I'm totally with you on irrational shipping practices. I hate the whole "oh, but X and Y were so in love; that obviously means neither one could ever have loved anyone else before and can never, ever, ever love anyone else again for as long as they live" garbage. And the opposite-but-exactly-the-same mantra from the anti-X/Y crowd: "Ha, after she died/became antimatter/went into an irreversible coma/got trapped in a parallel universe/whatever, he LOOKED at someone else, and therefore that proves he never, ever, ever loved Y at all, ever!"

Seriously, I've been a major Four/Romana shipper for 25 years, and never found that Ten/Rose threatened that in the slightest. Or vice versa. Rational multi-shipping FTW!

You are awesome. I love Doctor/Rose and Doctor/Romana and dabble in 3/Jo. Each companion offers something different and interesting to the Doctor and I love them all! =D It shouldn't be about a competition. It's possible to like more than one.
