My earliest memory is being on a boat ride with my stepdad and uncle, and them eating all the biscuits that my mum had promised were for ME. That uncle was an extremely important part of my family who passed away a year or so after the time this must've happened, and that is the only clear memory I have of him - and what I remember, is the indignation of not getting sweets.
