I'm getting a little tired of choice feminism/people equating things to slut shaming/people trying to claim anything a woman does is feminist.

Women's choices have to be able to be criticized and let's stop pretending that there aren't some choices that women make that will still feed into the patriarchy.

Your choices aren't made in a vacuum.

Dude, pro-choice doesn't just mean "as long as you make the choice I think is best" It means you think women are people who are welcome to make stupid choices and make their own fuckups and unless it's hurting a lot of other people you have to let them.

The problem is I've seen very few people use that meaning and more, "I am a woman and I made the choice so it's free from criticism!"

I've also seen a lot of people just straight up deny that their choices are effected by society.

There are even times people have tried to defend choices that do hurt other people.

That part would suck and I'd agree with. I tend to see it more often as "That woman dresses like a slut and expects us to believe she's a feminist?!" Or otherwise used to pick apart every single choice a woman's ever made to 'prove' she's not enough of a feminist.

Yeah I agree those types of discussions are messy and aren't really helping the feminist cause either. I think sometimes we concentrate a little too much on giving people a litmus test for feminism when we should really be concentrating on the actual issues.

It can be kind of a complicated issue to address but I think I just got to the point where I didn't agree with all choice feminists because at times it feels like a convenient excuse to keep the patriarchy in place as it is.
