It is the tale of how a corrupt authoritarian mad oligarch seized power in The United States of America and systematically destroyed opposition to his ability to squeeze every last dollar out of the national coffers and into his own bank account, and how long and hard the struggle to resist him was when you have no political leverage. Previously found in the "Read it while it is still science fiction" section of library. Now classified under current events.
