Every single werewolf in that book was a complete shithead, including the main character, so it would be more of a mystery if people didn't hate them.

The feminist was okay, and so was the guy who randomly got disemboweled by his best friend. For every other named character in the entire book, I was able to construct a consistent and sensical argument for why that character, specifically, was the worst person in the book. It reminds me of that story where Maid Marian is forced to have sex with the Sheriff to save Robin Hood's life, the one that's supposed to function as a personality test where whichever character you consider to be the worst explains what you value and what kind of a person you are. Only that story was also supposed to let you choose which character was the most noble, and there's not a lot of nobility in Blood and Chocolate.

P.S. I just found what I was thinking of: https://www.talisman.org/quizzes/robin-hood-morality.shtml
